Thanks for the memories........

I have been away from blogging for a while now. I really don't know why, except that maybe I just haven't had a lot going on. The holidays have all passed and they were wonderful spending time with our children and grandchildren. Each year something changes and I know that it always will. This year we had 2 extra kids here. They were my daughter in laws brothers' children. They were teenagers. To be in a strange place they made themselves at home and that is what makes you feel good.

My sad time at Christmas is thinking about my mother and the short time we spent together. She was only 19 years old when she came to America on a ship from England and I was born 4 months later. Fourteen months later my baby sister was born and then when I was 3 years old she left and went back to England where her family lived. She left behind two little ones, a 3 year old and a 2 year old. They say that children don't remember things at such an early age, but I remember the day she left. She never got to see my sister again but I got to see her again in September, 1997. It was a sad time in England for Diana had just been killed, but for me it was wonderful, for you see it had been 51 years since I last saw my mother. I didn't know exactly what to expect when I arrived, but it was one of the most wonderful 2 weeks in my life. I got to see a half sister for the first time and I also have a half brother but he was not there. After my 2 weeks there and I was leaving the airport something told me I would never see her again and you see I didn't. She got sick in December of that year and died on the 17th, so now I just have to remember all the wonderful memories.

I have been trying to download the last picture taken of my mother as she held her little girls for about the last time before she left. I remember when the picture was taken. Maybe I can get it to work later. If I can I will add the picture soon.

Hope everyone has a blessed week.
Till we meet again,
Jo
