Up, Up and Away

My grandson Morgan and I decided we would try to fly the kite one more time. We tried on Saturday but everytime we got out to start it would come a rain shower. Today was a cool day and just windy enough to get her off to a good start. We flew it for about 20 minutes before she fell or maybe I should say landed. She just came down in the driveway behind the car and away from all the power lines and trees. This was the first time I've flown a kite in many years, also Morgans' first time. I had forgot how much work it is to get one going. I guess I'm just getting old.

Got her up nearly 150' in the air. When she got past the hard wind down low she flew so smooth. I guess you could say she had wind beneath her wings.

Thanks for dropping by and have a blessed day,

Jo

Water, Water everywhere

These pictures were made on Thursday. This is looking across
Cider Ridge Golf Course after all the rain we've had. Can't play golf today.

They were going to play a little golf today. That didn't happen as you can see in the picture above. The water was standing everywhere, and besides they couldn't even get around the road. Had to turn around and go another route.

The water was up to the bottom of the bridge and across the road.

This sign should have read "Road Closed".

Hope the weather gets better soon. I think we have had enough rain for a while.

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day,

Jo

The Storms

The heavens declare the glory of God; and
the firmament shows and proclaims His handiwork. Psalm 19:1.

What better way than to have a beautiful rainbow in the sky.

Awaken around 4 a.m. with severe storms, lots of lightning and thunder, heavy rain and lots of wind you wonder what is going on outside. You get up to see and then all of a sudden you are sitting in the dark. The power has just gone off. We are sitting here just listening to the storms outside and I am reminder of a song I just heard tonight, "The Anchor Holds", talking about the storms of life. The anchor holds in spite of the storms. We can always turn to the anchor we have in Christ. When it gets quiet outside and you can't see anything, only the flicker of a candle for light inside and the lightning outside it gives you plenty of time to think. After all, what else can you do. We can stand in the doorway of our home and look out into the darkness and watch the storms pass by. Sometimes we are standing in the doorway of life watching the storms of our life go by. They can be severe at times, just like the storms we are having outside now, but if we put our faith and trust in the Lord, He will guide us thru. After all the storms, then we have a rainbow in the sky. What a beautiful sight.
Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day,

My first post

Be still, and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10

What a beautiful day!!! Sitting outside and looking at all the beauty. Spring is in the air. The first signs are already showing. Daffodils blooming everywhere, under trees still with no leaves, around mailboxes and even along the side of country roads and fences. Big fat robins digging in the leaves looking for a little nibble, crows off in the distance calling and even squirrels playing in the trees. Can't hardly wait to get started on our garden. It has to be a small garden spot this summer for we are planning on spending some time in the camper at the river this year. We worked on the camper all day Saturday getting it ready. The sunshine was so warm and being outside was great. Can't wait to be camping, fishing and just sitting outside enjoying the weather and the water.

Hope you enjoy my first attempt at blogging. This is truly a new learning experience for me. Let me hear from my new friends in the blogging world.

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day,
